GNOMEO AND JULIET: movie review

This has got to be one of my all time favorite animated Disney movie... Next to big Hero 6...

This is a wonderful interpretation of Shakespeare "Romeo and Juliet" But other than a rough following of the story line, it is pretty fresh and different. I am a huge Shakespeare fan, and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, there were many references to his original work which were great. But my non spoiler review is, it was great. The plot is wonderful, and even if you aren't a fan of Shakespeare, or just are unfamiliar with his work it is still a wonderful movie.

WARNING SPOILERS BELOW:

Okay what I like about this movie is, it is enough like the original, but is also filled with plot twists, and a new ending. So obviously this movie has a different ending than the original play, it is a Disney kids movie after all. I happened to like some of the changes from the original... Like the fact that in this movie Juliet isn't a kid. And that they both lived through the ending. But I think what I like most about this movie is, it is a great way to introduce kids into Shakespeare. Overall the movie was drama filled and humorous.

I am really exited for this coming movie! I enjoyed the 1st movie, and combining Sherlock Holmes into the mix is going to be great! And there are some big names in the movie, new character Sherlock Gnomes is going to be played by Johnny Depp. And returning Gnomeo and Juliet, James McAvoy and Emily Blunt.
